Tibetan Mantra Healing
Tibetan Mantra Healing is a powerful form of healing going back to ancient times. Modern physics confirms what may ancient cultures have known for many years - that energy and form are interchangeable; they are simply different manifestation of the same universal constituents. Mantra Healing focuses specifically on the energy of sound as a healing medium.
Tibetan Mantra Healing utilises ancient and secret mantras, sometimes encapsulating the essence of natural sound, and often using ancient words from Sanskrit and Tibetan language. It is the particular practice of the Ngakpa lineage, Ngak means someone who recites mantra.
A Mantra Healer must have full transmission from a qualified lineage teacher to practise this form of healing.
How does it work?
Mantra is a vibration healing technique. Sound waves or vibrations are able to permeate our system at a deep cellular level. The rain of our inner vibration through the use of sound, in this case mantra, utilises the energy of sound to balance ay underlying energetic disturbance; treating the root cause, as well as the related symptoms. There are literally hundreds of different mantras for healing. They can help with all physical, mental and emotional conditions.
How are mantras used for healing?
The appropriate mantra is recited a certain number of times to activate its power, then the breath which represents the essence of the voice, and therefore contains the subtle energy of sound, is yes to energise a healing medium.
That medium depends on the mantra and the condition being treated:
Nagk Chu mantra water - the breath is blown onto water which is drunk by the patient.
Nagk Mar mantra butter - the breath is blown onto butter which is either consumed or rubbed onto the appropriate area.
Tsa Ngak mantra salt - the breath is blown onto salt which is then applied to the appropriate area. It can also be heated and then applied or used in a warm bath or as a lavage.
Nagk Phu blowing mantra - the hands are rubbed together and the mantra blown onto them, they are then placed where indicated on the patients body.
Chad Nagk metal mantra - a combination of breath and hot metal is used to generate the healing energy.
Nagk rDo mantra stone - the breath is blown onto warm or cool stones which are then applied to the appropriate area.
There are written mantras put on rice paper to eat, or on strong paper to be carried on the person. Amulets, and blessing or protection cords are used used.
Karen has received transmission and extensive teaching for Mantra Healing from Dr Nida Chenagtsang. These mantras, in turn, have been transmitted to him as part of a long oral and written lineage, stemming from the Ngakpa tradition of which Dr Nida is a direct lineage holder.
