Annual 7 day Online Yuthok Ngondro retreat
Monday 19th October - Sunday 25th October
The Yuthok Nyingthik is the unique spiritual tradition of Tibetan Medicine, a complete cycle of Vajrayana Buddhist practice containing essential meditations, transformative inner yogas, practices to cultivate healing abilities, and benefitting rituals. Created by Yuthok Yonten Gonpo, the father of Tibetan Medicine, it is known for its concise, accessible methods and its nonsectarian approach - it is perfect for modern, busy people. Practicing the Yuthok Nyingthik improves health and longevity, enhances compassion and wisdom, and ultimately brings spiritual liberation.
Ngöndro means preliminary practice or preparation. The Ngondro purifies the body, energy, and mind and lays the foundation for all further practices. The term ‘preliminary’ refers to something very basic yet very profound and of great importance - like a tree’s roots.
In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Ngöndro practices are often very demanding in regard to time and effort. Strong dedication is needed to accomplish hundreds of thousands of prostrations, recitations of Refuge and Bodhicitta, Mandala offerings, etc. The Yuthok Nyingthig (Uncommon) Ngöndro takes only seven days, thus sustaining Yuthok’s special blessing as to speedy completion.
This is offered as an at home retreat. The seven days consists of two sessions per day and of course do what you need to in your daily life, but I encourage you to stay home if possible, only go out if necessary, and where you can, stay off social media. I have made this kind of retreat many times and it can still be a very good experience for the Ngondro.
